New for 2024! Join us for a comprehensive Cargo Load Securement Training on Tuesday, October 22 at our headquarters in Westerville. Led by Motor Carrier Enforcement Supervisor Brandon Evans, this training provides a comprehensive overview of proper procedures and protocols for securing cargo on flatbed trucks.

This training will cover all aspects of load/cargo securement including regulatory requirements of 49 CFR Section 392.9 and Part 393, Subpart I, and cover key topics including:

  • Pre-trip and on-route duties for loading, inspecting, and securing cargo
  • Differences between direct and indirect tiedown methods
  • Understanding tiedown devices' restraining capacity and its effect on cargo securement
  • Identifying the minimum tiedowns for loads and reasons for surpassing requirements
  • Applying correct cargo securement techniques
  • Understanding the correlation between cargo securement and Compliance, Safety, and Accountability (CSA)
  • Meeting securement criteria for typical flatbed-hauled cargo types
